I love coming to Taqueria Carolina. Every chance I get to eat tacos I come here. I have tried a dozen taquerias in the Modesto area but I must admit Carolina's is the best! Their meat is always hot and fresh, as well as the tortillas for your taco. When you place your order, the cashier hands your order to the cook and he gets started on it right away, you can watch him make your food while you wait if you like or sit down and munch on the free chips while you wait, and the salsa bar is open to all. The tacos always come out fresh and fast, always within 3-5 minutes (to-go takes a bit longer). The green avocado salsa is my favorite but they are all good with perfect heat and the have other toppings at the salsa bar like lemon, chile, salad, etc. The tacos are big and not very expensive, about $2.25 per taco and always stuffed to the max with fresh meat. The al pastor, lengua, carnitas, asada, and chorizo are always on point!! I have also tried their burritos but for me tacos are the best and this is the best place to get them :P

DISGUSTING AND DIRTY. I never review, but this dude made our food with his bare hands, no gloves and is unsanitary. Pressing the meat and everything on my food WITH HIS HANDS. I still can't get over this.. not only that, the customer service sucks and the food was horrible.. I can't believe this is even in service tbh

Has this place changed ownership or something? Have eaten here lots over the years and have always had great food, but last night was awful. Ordered carne asada tacos, and the meat turned out to be over cooked shredded beef. Very dry and chewy. Not what I've always had in the past. Hubby had carnitas enchiladas with a minimum of meat inside and beans! Who puts beans in an enchilada??? Even though it's close and convenient for us, we won't be back any time soon.

Customer service isn't great, not terrible. They rush and interrupt over the phone when they would be getting the info they're asking for if they just listened.
Of the 2 super burritos I've ordered here, EVERY SINGLE BITE of asada was gristle.
The Chile Colorado was dry but ok-tasting, not nearly as low-quality as the asada, but still the worst Chile Colorado I've ever ordered.
The food other than the meat is pretty good, but I won't be going back a 3rd time. There are much better taquerias nearby.
